Massey’s Executive Seminar Suite is a self-contained, multi-purpose space comprising one large room and 3 smaller breakout rooms off to the side.

Availability

Availability is good during teaching weeks and in the University breaks.

Hireage rates

The rate to hire the Executive Seminar Suite for a full day is $500.

Audio-visual equipment and wifi are available for use, which is included in the hireage rate.

The rate is current as at April 2021, and included as a guide only. Rates will be confirmed by Massey University when a booking is made. Please note that amounts are exclusive of GST.

Maximum capacity

The main room seats 30 – 40 people comfortably. There are a number of tables which can be configured to suit the event.

Description including special conditions

The main room and the breakout rooms are all included when hiring the Executive Seminar Suite. The rooms cannot be hired separately due to the layout of the Executive Seminar Suite.

Rooms that are hired after 5pm require a Massey staff member to be in attendance. The after hours staff charge is $30 per hour.

From Entrance A on Wallace Street, there are steps to the Executive Seminar Suite (see the Accessibility section, below, for wheeled access).

Massey University is a Smoke Free Campus.

Facilities

The Executive Seminar Suite has audio-visual equipment and wifi available at no extra cost. There is a large screen for presentations.

There is a kitchen area off the foyer. The Executive Seminar Suite has its own toilets, including an accessible toilet. There is a coat rack in the entrance foyer.

Catering can be booked, ranging from tea, coffee and light snacks to light meals. Here is the link to the catering menu.

Massey has a catering liquor licence. Alcohol can be delivered to the Executive Seminar Suite. Refer to page 4 of the Menu for details and pricing for Massey’s Bar Service.

Outdoor area

The area immediately outside the Executive Seminar Suite is a transit area. There are outdoor seating areas relatively close by, outside other blocks.

Accessibility

The Campus Map indicates where the accessible car parks are located.

The wheeled entrance for the Executive Seminar Suite is from Entrance F on Tasman Street (this is the southernmost entrance to Massey from Tasman Street). The roadway and footpath at Entrance F slope upwards. At the end of the roadway, on the left hand side, there is a path that winds past a garden with rosemary plants, this path leads to the Executive Seminar Suite.

There is an accessible toilet at the Executive Seminar Suite.

Parking

The Massey Campus has Pay and Display parking available for visitors, 24/7. Please be sure not to park in reserved parks, named parks, or numbered parks.

Cycle parking

There is cycle parking available throughout the campus. Please refer to the Campus Map for push bike parking areas.

By bus

The No. 3 bus (Lyall Bay / Rongotai heading south & Wellington Railway Station heading north) is a frequent route, which runs every 10 – 15 minutes along Taranaki and Wallace Streets.

The No. 18e travels between Karori and Miramar, via Taranaki and Wallace Streets.

Likewise, the No. 27 runs between Vogeltown and Wellington Railway Station along Taranaki and Wallace Streets. The bus stops in each direction are almost opposite each other, beside Bidwill Street heading north, and near to the Massey Gym heading south.

Walking

Coming from the City, there is a pleasant walk through Pukeahu National War Memorial Park to the former Dominion Museum of New Zealand Building, at the north of the Massey Campus. Continue through the Wellington High School Campus to the main Massey Campus.

From Adelaide Road, follow King Street, where there is a walking route up through the Massey car parks to Tasman Street, cross the road and take Entrance E for the main Campus.

The Executive Seminar Suite is Block 17 on the Campus Map. The best entrances are Entrance A (has steps), or Entrance F (no steps).

Look out for Tongan-born New Zealand artist Filipe Tohi’s 2014 welded aluminium sculpture Poutaha which is installed outside the Executive Seminar Suite.
