Famous as an upstairs venue for music, dance and meetings, and for its large community gallery space. The lightbox outside can be hired for artworks. Thistle Hall has an internal meeting room.

Maximum capacity
The hall can hold 100 people, maximum.
The internal meeting room can seat up to 20 people comfortably for a meeting. A maximum of 30 people could watch a presentation, if they are seated in rows.
Description & special conditions
The Community Gallery is hired by the week. A key is supplied for exhibitors to access the space during the week.
NO PARTIES!
The internal meeting room has a whiteboard and flatscreen TV. A laptop can be hooked up to the TV using the HDMI cable, which is supplied. The TV will then function like the laptop screen for presentations.
WiFi is available.

Facilities
There is a well-equipped kitchen in the upstairs hall. Downstairs there is a kitchenette for use by the internal meeting room users and the Gallery users.
Outdoor area
Exhibitions at the Gallery can be advertised on the Thistle Hall events blackboard, which sits on the footpath on Cuba St.
Thistle Hall has footpaths on two sides of the building, but no outdoor courtyard area.
Accessibility
There is a ramp into the Community Gallery.
The internal meeting room has two small steps to enter it.
There is a lift to go upstairs.
The toilet is downstairs and is accessible.
Parking
There is a mobility car park on Arthur Street. Otherwise, the only parking in the vicinity is short term on-street parking.
Cycle parking
There is limited capacity for cycle parking.
By bus
Take the No. 3 or No. 18 along Taranaki Street, or one of the buses that heads south along Victoria Street, and walk a short distance along Karo Drive to Thistle Hall.
Walking
Take your favourite walking route up Cuba Street. Thistle Hall is at the intersection of Karo Drive and Cuba Street, where the motorway traffic crosses Cuba Street, very near the top of Cuba Street.
